FLCL- According to a subbed version

Mamimi Samejima Age: 17 Sex: Female Hair:Pink Likes: the mischievious look on a panda's face, tasuku, day old bread, slippers with pressure points, (the list goes on)	Mamimi Samejima attends the highschool in Mabase. She is a chain smoker (all her cigarrettes have 'never knows best' written on them. She is also an arsonist (burned down her old school). During the show, mamimi seems to have been dating tasuku but I believe that she simply hangs around him sort of like a loyal puppy (he did save her from the burning school). She cheats on him with Noata because she found out that Tasuku got a new girlfriend in America (Tasuku went to america for baseball). She eats day old bread, plays a handheld video game where you have to burn the devil's city to keep it from spreading. She thinks Canti (the robot) is the black angel because he can fly ect. I believe she is homeless.
Naota Nandaba: Age: 11 Alias: Takun, Nao-kun, Taro-kun Hair: Dark brown Height: kind of short Dislikes: sour stuff, spicy stuff, bitter stuff, immature people, when haruko kabongs him	Noata goes to the middle school in mabase, likes to complain, hates adults that act stupid. He tries to act over mature which means he acts sort of snobbish. He's relatively  quiet being overshadowed most of the time by his older brother who is currently in America. He's lousy at baseball but is a good hearted kid. He has positive N.O. fields which means materials (or robots) can be passed through his head. He lives with his grandfather and father and cuts class occasionaly. He had a crush on Haruko for a bit, and Mamimi, but was ultimately left with Eri (only because the other two left)
Haruhara Rahal Alias: Haruko, Raharu Age: 19-unknown Class: Alien Hair: Pink Signature Marks: extreme acts of violence, yellow vespa, blue bass guitar. L ikes: Power Dislikes: people who take it from her Useless talent: Making insanely spicy curry	5 words: Insane power hungry manipulative alien. But at least she's cool. Haraharu Haruko/Rahal is one of the most loved and hated characters of this series. She selfish, self centered, manipulative, insane, and inconsiderate. But she's just so cool. She rides her trade mark vespa and kabongs people with her bass guitar to see if they have positive N.O. fields. well, moving on, FLCL would not be the top seller it is without Haruko, I mean, it would just be some angsty drama instead of random explosions... Well at least Haruko has a mission: rescuing Atomsk. Even if it is just for his power.
Canti: Alias: Kanchi, Cantido, Cantide, Robot boy, sony TV walkman CLassification: Robot Age: unknown Special Abilites: can fly, lift boxes, shoot energy cannonballs, be controller by atomsk, run errands. Distingushing features: Wears wings, halo, jacket, poncho, cardboard box bonnet w/ apron. Occupation: Working at the bakery, working as a crossing guard, destroying the robots from medical mechanica	Canti is a Medical Mechanica robot that is somewhat of an enigma. When he is grey that means he's just a regular robot. When he turns red that means Atomsk the pirate king is controlling him meaning he's super powerful. In the begining when Canti comes out of naota's head (he's the first) he was red, but Haruko smashed the back of his 'brain' causing him to go grey. Haruko was trying to free atomsk, but when she smashed the back of his head she crippled his powers. Now Canti only turns read after 'eating' naota who has positive N.O. fields. Canti's name comes from Cantido the Black angel, a character in mamimi's video game. mamimi was the one who dubbed Canti after she saw the 'wings and halo' Canti put on himself. Canti can also fly and transform into a cannon.
Ninamori Eri: Age: 12 Hair: Purple Status: Human, Class president Likes: Her parents together, Naota Dislikes: Mamimi	Ninamori Eri is the daughter of the mayor of mabase. She is very much like Naota in some way, possibly even more mature than him. Her father was involved in some sort of scandal and she takes it very well. Through the show it seems she has a crush on naota because she always seems to be jelous of how mamimi acts around naota. She gets posessed by a MMM (medical mechanica monster) after touching naota's cat ears. Both me and canti don't exactly know the cause.
Amarao: Classification: human Hair color: red Occupation: Bureau of interstellar immigration Distingushing features: Huge annoying eyebrows Kitsurubami: Classification: human Occupation: Bureau of interstallar immigration Distingushing features: Maturity	Amarao is the head of the Bureau of Interstellar Immigration. He has huge eyebrows and not much manliness according to Haruko. He likes sugar, and is trying to save Mabase. He knew Haruko before naota, hinting at some event before the series. He dislikes her intensly because of her wild, selfish, and destructive personality. Canti guesses he fought against her and lost when he was younger. Amarao contantly tries to 'grow up' because he is alot like a child stuck in a grown ups body. He has a 'sidekick' of sorts, named Kitsurubami. She is probably the most 'normal' character in the show (aside from belonging to the BII). She acts very mature and tries to destroy Canti under orders but fails.
Nandaba Kamon: reddish brown hair, tall, freaky lookin, the kind of guy you would edge away from at a bus stop. Beware of his occaisonal lecherous habits. But only if you're haruko, but then in that case you have a boxing glove to nab him with. Grandpa: Can't handle spicy curry, almost bald, plays baseball, lacks a sense of humor. Knows the 'kuri kuri' hand motion.	Naota's family. Not the most supportive group ever but they are good for a laugh. There is Naota's father Kamon who runs a bakery. He is also a ambitious magazine publisher (not that sucessful though). He's jelous of the attention that haruko gives naota (and vice versa just with naota being jelous in some cases) and he acts very immature. He does NOT have positive N.O. fields which means he was killed once. A 'robotic' Kamon filled in for a while before naota cracked its head. And then after that confusing episode Kamon seemed back which means some how he was resurected. Well Haruko uses a cat for a connection to her superiors, I guess she can do more than that. Noata's grandfather is the coach of the local baseball team and not much is known about him. Just for the record: there are no adult women at the nandaba household.

Episode One:The show opens up with Mamimi and Naota hanging around under the bridge. Mamimi says something about overflowing if she doesn't do this, this being draping herself over Naota. Naota remarks she smells like smoke and she denies it but as we know, she's lying. Naota talks some more about how everything is the norm and nothing unusual happens. He also talks about the giant medical factory that blows out smoke.      Scene change- Haruko is snarfing down what looks to me like a rice crispy and mamimi and naota are at a vending machine. She 'steals' his drink by pressing the button after naota had paid. She drinks half then gives it to naota but he hates sour stuff. He tosses it and mentions about his brother. We hear a engine, and Haruko comes barreling out with her vespa and bass and misses naota and instead runs him over with her vespa. Haruko inspects him then proclaims him dead while mamimi snaps a few photos. She claims she had found him (finding someone with a positive N.O. field) and she had killed him. Mamimi goes on about naota's various nicknames. Haruko then procedes to do CPR and it is a success. After he is proclaimed alive, she kabongs him with her bass. Then she starts shaking him upside down trying to get something out of his skull. Haruko then exits with a parting shot that naota is useless.         Scene change- naota is at home at his desk inspecting the interesting horn growing from his forehead. he notices that if he presses it down it stays so he bandages it and goes downstairs. SC- he's at school and everyone is talking about the bee woman who rides a vespa and stings people. And a mark will show up if you do bad things. Naota goes to the hospital after school and gets inspected and diagnosed with FLCL, but the nurse is actually none other than haruko who is attempting another head shot. Naota escapes from the hospital and the insane haruko.      SC- in the evening naota goes to the dining room to see haruko sitting there. The anime does a manga scene for a bit, everything half drawn and half animated. His father and grandfather and haruko both ramble crazily about gundam wings, bread, kissing, breast tweaking, and hand motions. It is all very chaotic. Also haruko is now employed by the nandaba family as a maid and Kamon revealed he had been run over.      SC- haruko is conversing seemingly with the family cat. she is using him as a connection to the fraternity. She and Naota run into a little tiff about where she'll sleep.       SC- Naota discovers mamimi has been here and chases off to the bridge where he seems to be sure she'll be. And lo and behold she's sitting there with a heck of alot of day old bread. And a cigarette. He tries to tell her he got a letter from his brother in america with a picture of his new girlfriend (haruko shows us) and mamimi faints. Suddenly two battling robots come out of naota's head and haruko rushes over when her bracelet starts jiggling. Naota gets caught onto the red robot and is in the middle of the fight. The red one (canti) pummels the other but after its defeat haruko jumps out and bangs the robot in the back of its head turning it greyish blue.      End of episode: Naota's horn is gone and he proclaims everything back to normal. Mamimi offers him the remainder of her sour drink which this time he gulps down even though he doesn't like it.

Episode two opens with Mamimi explaining how she saw a heavenly being that came to earth just for her. Naota notices her and tells her not to bother him while he is at school. Meanwhile, Eri and Naota's other friends were discussing who mamimi was, concuring that she was his girlfriend. Eri calls Naota an idiot.      SC: Haruko is taking an X-ray of naota's skull (with canti's help) and explains how naota has no more brains. Literally. "must have dropped them somewhere" Haruko starts to introduce herself to the camera, announcing she's nineteen "the hell you say". Then in a ridiculous outfit, she shouts she's a space investigator for the fraternity. Which actually isn't that far from the truth. Naota and Haruko duke it out some more, and we find out Canti was made in the factory thats on a hill.      SC: Kamon is using Canti to lift boxes and has attracted the interest of neighbors. Haruko inquires about the fires that have been occuring. Back at tge bride Mamimi is playing her video game with the kitty she rescued prancing around. Naota comes up to her with her shoes and lectures her abit. She mumbles some more crap about being an angel and neko-takkun      SC: Haruko is on her vespa in the rain and gets toilet paper wrapped around her head. She rams the vespa into the side of the medical mechanica building. Two police officeres attempt to help her. One lecturing her and the other looking up her skirt. Naota comes along with what looks like a action figure which haruko sticks into her vespa.      SC: Mamimi snaps some pictures of canti with his strap on wings and halo, and watches him fly. Haruko and naota go to the beach, Haruko breaking several several vehicular laws simultaneously. Later that night, at the nandaba household, Canti comes back with everyone's requested items (all slightly off though) Mamimi objects to the treatment of canti telling everyone he is an angel.      SC: Naota is following mamimi home after he found her standing in the river while he and his friends were inspecting the ruins of the boathouse. He has some flashbacks (text only) about the interrogation about mamimi and the connection between her and the fire at the school.      SC: Fire in the morning, fire in the evening. There's a fire and naota's is looking for mamimi. He finds her in a circle of lit cigarettes praying with lighters taped on the side of her head. She turns a boom box off which was the source of the creepy music. She gets up and gives a kiss of blessing to canti which causes Naota some serious head seizures resulting in a new robot. Grey canti seems to be no match for the robot, and haruko isn't either. Canti does something new and swallows naota. He turns red then and totally kicks robot ass. After a cool thingy with canti turning into a cannon and defeating the robot, Canti 'ejects' naota in a most graphic manner and turns grey again. All is well.

Episode 3 starts with eri and her 'nanny' (father's secretary) at a traffic light. She comments how well eri takes the news of her father's scandal and the announcment of their divorce. She also tells about the school play thats coming up. The title for this episode is Mar-raba in pink letters. A little joke on shoujo anime? we may never know. SC:haruko is attempting to fix her bike, and only answers naota when he refers to as 'alien' Naota goes to school, and Eri rags on him for missing morning rehersals. Naota point blank refuses to be puss for puss in boots ( i would too). During class, Naota and his buddies were looking through some magazine, and Miyagi their teacher 'splodes after she confiscated it. Ritalin anyone? SC: Mamimi and Naota are at the riverbank, and naota is moping about his part in the school play. Naota's hat comes off revealing 'mimi no neko. cat ears. SC: after kamon goes babbling about his 'zine 'come on mabase' haruko interrupts canti glueing something together. It appears to be his 'brain' the one Haruko smashed in eppy 1. SC: Naota and eri meet at the subway entrance and were talking right before Haruko comes on her vespa. She swerves violently to avoid a cat, and her vespa sideswipes eri and naota. Naota's new hair thing is revealed and Eri goes nuts. Haruko tells her not to touch it though because she is still a young girl.  She touches it, and has a little stomach seizure. Haruko goes'what did I tell you?'. SC: Everyone is at the nandaba residence including Eri. Spicy curry is for dinner, (eri takes all the mild curry) and only kamon seems to like it. Eri questions the existence of canti, and kamon calls it a 'TV walkman'. She has another stomach seizure and goes off to the bathroom. SC: Eri will stay the night and the two of them are chatting in Naota's room.Eri is wearing glasses when normally she has contacts. Eri reveals that she had cheated on the voting for the casting for the play. SC: Before the after school rehearsals Haruko comes by and drops off his lunch. He refuses to stay and eri gets cheesed off and knocks off his hat. Everyone see his cat ears before they disappear. They transfer to Eri and begin to come farther out of her head revealing some spider/pumpkin/one eyed monster that seems to be manipulating her. First she goes for naota, then Canti, haruko tries to help with a classmates ukelele but it's not good enough. She whistles for her vespa and begins to head out. The vespa with a mind of its own runs over miyagi int he hallway, and canti and the monster come up to the roof with eri and naota in tow. The monster ingests the Curry and acts sick. It does some gross stuff off the edge of the building and Canti eats naota and they dispatch that rude monster. Yatta? SC: The class play is going on with ninamori on the stage. Punchline of the day?:She says her glasses were fake.

Episode four opens with haruko hitting a baseball out of the park(she has the mysterious P! on the back of her uniform).  It's a baseball game between two towns. She's on the other side unsurprisingly. Naota had gotten whapped in the face and is sporting a bloody nose. After the game, the captain of the mabase team (naota's grandpa) decides to use canti in their next game because of his robotic abilities. SC: Haruko is apparently using Kamon as some electro massager... which is unbelieveably creepy. But that isnt really kamon because the real kamon is dead, this kamon is a robotic kamon. don't worry, the real kamon is resurrected later. Well anyway, Naota is cheesed off because he believed that she had 'liked' him better. of course Haruko is a manipulative alien searching for power so she is excused. sort of. She also mentions she's earning some money from the opposite team so she can help with the electricity bill (thats considerate since it seems no one really wants to buy those 'zines). SC: Naota is whacking a vending machine with his bat, and amarao on a moped tells him not to use a bat but a baguette. He goes into the bakery and buys some spicy curry bread. He gives him some more info on staying away from older women (whats wrong with older women? haruko is an alien) and leaves on his moped. SC: Later that evening, haruko gives naota a little batting lesson. She tells him to aim for this peculiar star in the sky that seems to be drifting. Actually, that star is a sattelite with a bomb on board heading towards wherever naota is. This fact is confirmed at the headquarters of the department of interstellar immigration outside of mabase. You can see that the spicy curry bread has been 'improved' because Amarao does not like spicy things. SC: The next day, mamimi ditches naota to go with haruko to the baseball game (only coz canti is in it) and naota heads home. He is confronted by his dad acting all demented. Some rather confusing scenes go by, and it results in naota smashing the television and when he does that it knocks the robot-kamon backwards. Now in the next 10 minutes or so it becomes very confusing. Naota is being interrogated by Amarao about beaning his dad with his baseball bat. He explains some stuff, saying how what he hit was nothing but a puppet and don't mess around with haruko (blah blah blah). Also at the baseball field, a huge blimp flies by declaring mabase in a state of emergency and everyone has to evacuate. SC: with the nandaba's electricity out, it was the cause of naota's father short circuiting. Naota finds the plug and looks in the closet and sees the mummified corpse of his dad. He runs around for a bit like a headless chicken (elsewhere mamimi is summoning the lord of terror (bomb)... and then later, surprise, his dad is back and naota is dumping water on him. SC: while amarao is talking to naota he explains about the sattelite coming towards earth with that bomb on board, and requests naota to ask haruko to hit one more out of the park. So fly back into the present now, and Haruko crashes through the wall on her vespa. Naota asks her about the mechanical version of his dad, and for a section she looks trapped. Then she goes back to her insane self yelling something about the being the illusion of youth. She agrees to help with the bomb, saying it'll cost him though SC: at the secret base outside of mabase, kitsurubami is very very angry with amarao. He reveals that haruko is Haruha raharu. now say it 10 times fast plus haruhara haruko 10 times. Back to FLCL, amarao blames Haruko for upsetting the negotionations between medical mechanica and the government. SC: Haruko and Naota are zooming for the medical mechanica building where the bomb would do the least damage. When they're on the top, she puts a shower cap on his head and sticks her hand through his cranium. She yanks out a electric guitar then, and calls it his bat. She then awaits the bomb telling naota he's gonna hit it. Naota beings to fold up, and haruko abandons ship (by the way, the bomb resembles a baseball ironically). Yet when he yells out his brother's name, atomsk's sign appears on his forehead as he whacks it. Unable to make it go any farther, it begins to open but is stopped when haruko helps with her bass and both of them slam it back into the atomsphere. Haruko and Naota take a ride home on the vespa while Amarao's eyebrows fall off. Fin~ for now

Episode 5 opens up with Naota and Haruko apparently playing something similar to paintball, except with plastic bullets? Prior to this which explains his situation, Kamon apparently tried to hit on Haruko and she promptly dispatched him with a large spring loaded boxing glove. Naota, tired of his dad's crazy ramblings he goes up to his room where he sees haruko trying to use their cat as a signal to the fraternity (not that he knows, he's just aware she's only wearing a towel). He tells her to get dressed and she does, in a ridiculous outfit as usual. After a mishap with using her guitar to fly, they both end up on naota's bed. A MM robot begins to push out of the back of his head (illustrated beautifully with an arrow) making it so he's kissing haruko. Kamon is also in the doorway watching (his face turns many pretty colors) and promptly challenges naota for haruko. Haruko, of course, accepts for him and thats how they're in that little gun fight. Canti is with Kamon and Haruko is with naota. Haruko doesn't seem to care that she's totally sabotaging him, but then again, she doesn't care about much anyway. Notice Kamon is dressed up as a nazi, swastika and all (he just likes the costume I'm sure). Anyway, while Haruko is using naota as a meat shield, Kitsurubami unloads a very large cannon on the bridge overlooking them (notice mamimi is right there o_o). She reports is blue, which means that Canti is blue and therefore not very powerful. She's blowing up canti though on the last one haruko bats it back with her bass blowing up her car and tossing kitsurubami into the river with kamon. Now Naota and canti are finishing it up but naota gets hit by a truck. Inside the truck are his friends, working even though they're underage.  Haruko comes in and messes with naota for a bit, while eri finds out she 'wins' a green squirt gun from one of the kids she was working with. SC: Naota and mamimi are chatting at their usual spot, mamimi  kind of mopey with how awsome naota is these days. Naota tries to convince her he's not interested in haruko and attempts to get her to lighten up practically dragging her off to somewhere. SC: Kitsurubami is in the river, telling amarao she lost canti. Canti comes over to help her out of the river but she tries to shoot him instead. After noticing canti wants to help her, destroying him isn't her top priority. Back at the barber shop, Amarao is unwittingly getting his hair dyed by haruko. when she mentions 'furi kuri' color he realizes who it is. Now, the 'barber shop' fight scene is probably one of the coolest, haruko can do amazing things with a shaving razor and her guitar. SC: meanwhile, naota was arguing with mamimi and it so happens another robot started coming out of his head. Haruko, done with amarao pulls out a  little slingshot from his head (XD) and heads off to prevent disastor (or cause more). Haruko is flying around on her guitar using that slingshot as a weapon. Naota is ingested by canti because he's peeved at mamimi asking his brother to save her. With canti and haruko the hand with many guns is dispatched. Curiously, when canti fires one of his energy cannons, it is deflected by a bullet and hits a billboard and sticks there. Later that ball of energy is naota which proves naota is simply ammo for canti, and canti is now manifested with the power of atomsk.  But meanwhile, canti punches a hole through the hand. knocking some bits out. Including the terminal core. The TC is what the hand needs to be able to activate the MMplant, which will iron out the world. Well that ends episode 5, with naota being squished by haruko's shoes.

Episode 6 starts out during lunch time at naota's school. Everyone is using chopsticks which the teacher claimed prevented senility and worked your brain. While the teacher was struggling Naota walks out of class quite apathetically. He lets us know what he thinks about that giant hand, and how haruko and canti are now missing and wanted fugitives after episode 5. SC: at the secret HQ of the department of interstellar immmigration, amarao and kitsurubami were discussing the hand. We learn that the terminal core is the part that controls the hand, and is missing in action. and that they have to find it before the hand is reunited with it and it can grab the factory and raze the world. SC: back at the good ol' bridge, Mamimi met this cue little robot fellow.its small and acted like a dog. <before this she was splattered by a passing bike> Little does mamimi know, this is the terminal core and it feeds on other electrical devices.  Somewhere else, naota was walking along, minding his own business when amarao decides to give him a lecture about Haruko. Blah blah blah older women are trouble. He gives him a pair of eyebrows anyway. Back to mamimi. She's playing with her cellphone and the little robot dude eats it. <XD> he dos grow a little bigger. Mamimi continues to bring him stuff (cell phones from other students) until its pretty big. SC: back at naota's house, he goes to his kitchen and we get a manga scene. Haruko is back and everyone claims she was back from hawaii. Thats about it...... xD and Kamon tells us to stop doing manga scenes because fans are getting mad. Oh and naotas false eyebrows fall off. The next morning after some gut spilling with haruko and naota, they go on a rendevous in the mountains. They eat ramen and sleep on a bench.  SC: meanwhile mamimi is going around with her oversized mecha pug which is eating larger things now. Specifically the vehicles of those she dislikes. well the next morning, its big enough to catch people's attention. it is revealed as the terminal core, the part that makes tha big hand move. Canti was reactivated but the terminal core was flung over to the hand with amarao and mamimi in tow. Naota and Haruko are on their tails. When everyone is on the palm of the giant hand, naota shows that he is no one's puppy but Haruko. Haruko rewards him by flinging him into the mouth of the terminal core which then goes into the hole on the hand. The hand begins to move to grasp the MM building but canti stops it. A red glowing naota emerges from canti's face and is revealed to be naota with atomsk's amazing powers. Haruko, after that power all along begins to fight him and we see one of THE coolest fight scenes in this show. Haruko is about to lose and right before naota delivers the finishing blow, he stops and returns to normal. He announces he's in love with her and kisses him (cue the awwws). Then one final thing emerges from his head and it's atomsk himself in the form of a giant bird. He begins to create this whirlpool of air which is beginning to suck everything up into the air.  He does that for a bit, then dissapears into the sky. Haruko contemplates taking naota with her, but decides not too because he's still a 'kid. It ends with mamimi taking a snapshot of him.   Epilogue: Mamimi leaves to become a photographer. Haruko is never seen again. Everything goes back to normal.... or is it? *haruko's guitar string twangs* THE END.

1) In episode one, after naota got run over by haruko, she proclaims him dead. She refers to him as 'tarokun'. Taro is a generic japanese name, sort of the japanese equivalent of Bob or Jim.	6) In the beginning of episode 5, Naota and his grandpa are watching TV, someone in the show they're watching yells something about pidgeons. When Kamon smashes into the TV, pidgeons fly out if you watch carefully. Also Kamon mentions something about his jacket and Mr. Monkey. He is referring to Lupin III who wore similiar jackets like that in different colors.
2) Again in episode one, after Haruko calls him taro kun and gives him CPR, we see a sort of fuzzy scene with naota, mamimi, and haruko in a trailer discussing the CPR part. They say how its really hard to do because you have to hold your breath but naota says something about how she's just moving slowly. THAT'S NOT RIGHT is proclaimed and the show goes on. That was suppose to be a fake behind the scenes clip, how in some movies or shows they show you how they do it and their comments.	7) When you see amarao talking with the lady at the barber shop, the animation is rather different. That's because it's suppose to be a crack at south park, with the bowling ball heads, eyes, ect.
3) The game mamimi always plays in played on something that looks like a gameboy. You are a servant of Canti, the black angel, and go around burning endsville. Endsville is the devil's city and you have to burn it to keep it from spreading.	8) Again in episode 4, Kitsurubami yells while shooting canti " blue, blue, cobalt blue... and a blue fish in japanese is a... saba!" Mamimi tells kitsurubami (while she gets blown up) "umm thats actualy a common misconception." This in my opinion is one of the most confusing japanese reference jokes I did not even understand until I did some thorough research. Blue in japanese is "aoh" which you hear Kitsurubami yelling. "fish" in japanese is sakana (if its a river fish its just kana) so sakana no aoh is "fish of blue" or blue fish. But blue fish is a real type of fish, and in japanese has 3 different names, kuromatsu, mutsu, and nodoguro. So mamimi was right saying kitsurubami was wrong about the saba being a blue fish. because saba is a mackaral. -i went to sushi place and found out-
4) Flictonic Cliple Weber Syndrome. That is what FLCL is. Haruko diagnoses Naota with it, saying if a child suffers stress he will grow a horn (of course he doesnt believe it) In japanese it would be said 'furitoniku kuripe weba' see the 'furi kuri'? Naota just didnt say the whole thing. Imagine how long the title would be too.
